These push ups and sit ups should be done on all weekdays. If the
student feels pain in joints then exercise should be held back. If
a handicap or injury prevents the student from accomplishing the homework
alternative exercise will be assigned at the teacher's discretion. Parents
and guardians are encouraged to participate in the exercise. It is
also recommend that the student gets approximately 20 minutes of continuous
movement exercise on a daily basis through basketball, tag
games, soccer, swimming, roller balding, biking, or ice skating among many
other forms of leisure activity.
Reminder: Third graders' strength gains are usually due to neurological
development and not hypertrophy (muscle growth). |
